Roxane Gay is bringing “The Banks” to the movies. Based on The Hollywood Reporter, the creator and critic will pen the film adaptation of her graphic novel “The Banks,” the story of three generations of female thieves. Gay will even govt produce the enterprise, which hails from Macro (“Mudbound”).
From TKO Studios, “The Banks” is written by Gay and illustrated by Ming Doyle. The graphic novel sees three grasp thieves in Chicago overcoming “their variations to embark on a heist of a lifetime and avenge a favored one taken too shortly.”
Macro’s Poppy Hanks, Charles D. King, and Jelani Johnson are among the many many film’s producers.
